Absent muster Jan-Feb 1863, on furlough in Butler County, AL. Present muster Mar-Dec 1863. Appointed ambulance driver 03/22/63 by order of Colonel Adams. Cloth request 03/31/64 Dalton, GA."

 

There is a James L. Turner listed in the 1880 Federal Census for Butler County, AL.  He is listed as having been born 1840, and was a farmer.  He was living in the Dead Fall community.

 

Listed in the household were his wife, Elizabeth C. Turner, and the following children:

Anna C. Turner

Lydia V. Turner

George A. Turner
