No concrete information has been located on Samuel J. Fegain,
2nd Lt., Co. C, 03/01/62 "Greenville, AL" "Injured in
Rail Accident on March From Nashville to Chattanooga, TN 11/4/62. Resigned
5/27/63, Medical Disability.” We
have located two possibilies for this man. Samuel J. (James) Feagin was born ca. 1829 at Montezuma,
AL. He was the son of William Richardson
Feagin and Sallie Saires Jones.
He married a Georgia Ann (last name unknown) about 1850. The only information about his burial
is that he died after 1860 in Covington County, AL. Samuel J. (Jefferson) Feagin, born 1841 in Macon, Bullock
Co., AL. was the son of James M. Feagin and Almira Cole. He was the grandson
of Noah B. Cole and Wealtha Nelson. Some records indicate that this man was
injuried at the Battle of Cold Harbor, VA and that he died July 19, 1862 of
those injuries. If so, this
