Entered Army, in 1944, trained at Camp McCain, Miss. Camp Maxey and Camp Bowie, Tex. Served in ETO, Asiatic-Pacific. Awarded Unit Commendation. Discharged in 1946.

DARROW, Alvis Jr T/Sgt Alvis Darrow, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Darrow, Sarepta, La. Husband of Loree Welch, attended school in Sarepta, La., Entered Army in 1942, trained in Fla., Miss., Tex., Ky., Va., Ind. and N.C. Served in England, France and Germany. Awarded Air Medal. Discharged in 1945.

DARST, Ralph P. Pfc. Ralph P. Darst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Darst, Springhill, La., husband of Dean McLemore, attended Springhill High School. Entered Army in 1943, trained at Camp Blanding, Fla. Served in ETO. Awarded Pres. Citation. ETO with 5 Bronze Stars, GCM, and Victory Ribbon. Discharged in 1946.

DAVID, John T. Jr. Cpl. John T. David, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John David, Minden, La., husband of Yvonne David, attended Minden High School. Entered Army in 1943, trained at Scott Field, Ill. Tex., and Ga. Served in U.S.A., discharged in 1946.

DAVID, Bert W. Pfc. Bert W. David, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. David, Sr., Minden, La., husband of Lavinia Shealy, graduate of Minden High School and Louisiana College. Entered Army, 1945, trained at Camp Fannin, Tex., and Camp Robinson, Ark.

DAVIDSON, Roger N. Sgt. Roger N. Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Davidson, Meridan, husband of Daisy Carpenter. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Ft. Sill, Okla., and Capt Howze, Texas. Served in ETO. Awarded Pres. Citation, Bronze Star, 5 battle stars and ETO ribbon. Discharged in 1945.

DAVIS, Allen W. S/Sgt. Allen W. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Bartlett, Minden, attended Fair Park High School, Shreveport, La., Entered Army, 1941, trained at Barksdale Field, La., Atlanta, Ga., Texas, Ky. and N.C. Served in China and India. Awarded Pres. Citation, Unit Citation from British Govt. Discharged in 1946.

DAVIS, Ford C. Cpl. Ford C. Davis, son of Charles Davis, Minden, husand of Joyce Kennon, attended Minden High School. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Camp Claiborne, La., Served in ATO. Discharged in 1944.

DAVIS, Winborne E. Ensign Winborne E. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis, Heflin, husband of Claire Causey, graduate of Heflin High School. Entered Navy in 1943, trained at Pensacola and Jacksonville, Fla., Served in ETO and Africa. Awarded ETO, Amer. Thea. and Victory Ribbons. Discharged in 1945.

DAVIS, James C. Sgt. James C. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis, Heflin, graduate of Heflin High School. Entered Army, 1941, trained at Camp Livingston, La. Camp Shelby, Miss. and Ft. Ord, Cal. Served in Pacific, New Guinea, and Philippines. Awarded ATO, Amer. Def. APO, 2 Combat stars, and Phil. Lib. Ribbon with 1 combat star. Discharged in 1945.

DAVIS, Baylous B. Capt. Baylous B. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis, Heflin, husband of Margaret Daly, graduate of Heflin High School. Entered Marines, 1935, trained at San Diego, Cal. Parris Island, S.C. Camp Lejune, N.C. and Pearl Harbor. Served in APO and Japan. Awarded APO Ribbon with 6 Battle Stars; Marines Service Ribbon; Unit Citation; Chinese Defense; 2 stars and Purple Heart. Wounded in China and Guadacanal, 1938 and 1942.

DAVIS, Colvin F. S/Sgt. Colvin F. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis, Heflin, La., graduate of Heflin High School. Entered Army Air Corps, 1942, trained at Randolph Field, and Waco, AAF Texas. Discharged in 1945.

DAVIS, Mack B. Pfc. Mack B. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis, Heflin, graduate of Heflin High School. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas Huntsville, Texas and Camp Robinson, Ark. Served in American Theatre. Awarded GCM and Victory Medal. Discharged in 1945.

DAVIS, Ardlee D. Pvt. Ardlee D. Davis, son of Mrs. J. N. Davis, Sibley, husband of Juanita Seegers, attended Sibley High. Entered Army, 1944, trained at Camp Pickett, Va., and Hammer Field, Calif. Discharged in 1945.

DEAN, Marion D. T/5 Marion D. Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dean, Shongaloo, husband of Edith Raborn, attended Shongaloo High School. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Camp Claiborne, La., and Ft. Bragg, N.C. Served in ETO. Awarded 5 battle stars, Pres. Citation; Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Award and Bronze Indian Arrowhead. Discharged in 1945.

DEAN, Lewis S/Sgt Lewis Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dean, Shongaloo, graduate of Shongaloo High School. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Camp Carson, Colo. Kansas State College and California. Served in France and Germany. Killed in action near Nuremberg, Germany, 1945.

DEAN, Lois 2nd Lt. Lois Dean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dean, Shongaloo, attended Shongaloo High School. Entered ANC, 1945, trained at Ft. Sam Houston, and El Paso, Texas. Served in Philippines.

DEAN, Lillie M. 1st Lt. Lillie M. Dean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dean, Shongaloo, wife of Capt. J. C. Chiota, graduate of Shongaloo High School. Entered ANC, 1941, trained at Camp Shelby, Miss. and Camp Cook, Cal. Served in England, France, Holland, and Germany. Awarded 3 battle stars and Unit Citation. Discharged in 1945.

DEAN, James M. Pfc. James M. Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Dean, Sarepta, husband of Nell Benson, attended Springhill High School. Entered Marines, 1943, trained in San Diego, Cal. Utah and Oceanside, Calif. Served in Hawaii, and Iwo Jima. Killed in action on Iwo Jima, 1945.

DEAN, Paul A. Cpl. Paul A. Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Dean, Sarepta, husband of Billie Moses, attended Springhill High School. Entered Army, 1943, trained at Camp Wolters, Texas. Discharged in 1956.

DEAN, Eugene Hollis S 1/c Eugene Hollis Dean, son of Milton L. Dean, Haynesville, graduate of Haynesville High School. Entered Navy 1943, trained in U.S. NTS. Served in Pacific. Discharged in 1945.

DEAN, Milton L. Jr. S/Sgt Milton L. Dean, Jr., son of Milton L. Dean, Haynesville, husband of Helen Johnson, graduate of Cotton Valley High School. Entered Army Air Corps, 1943, trained in N.C. Fla, and La. Served in England and France. Awarded Air Medal, 7 Clusters, GCM and Purple Heart. Killed in Action in Germany, 1944.

DEAN, William Buel Cpl. William Buel Dean, son of Milton L. Dean, Haynesville, husband of Jessie Maxwell, attended Carlisle High School. Entered Army Air Corps, 1942, trained in Arizona and New Mexico. Served in Africa and Italy. Awarded Pres. Unit Citation and 12 battle stars. Discharged in 1945.
