Entered Army Air Corps, 1943, trained in Florida, Miss. Texas, N.Y., Mass. and N.J. Served in USA. Awarded GCM, ATO, Victory Medal and Aviation Gunners Wings. Discharged in 1946.

DEAN, James A. RM 1/c James A Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Dean, Minden, attended Minden High School. Entered Navy, 1942 trained in Calif. Colo. and Wash. Served in Hawaii and S. Pacific. Discharged in 1946.

DEAN, Henry D. T/Sgt Henry D. Dean, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Dean, Minden, husband of Mary E. Pugh. Entered Army Air Corps in 1941, trained in Miss. and Colo. Served in Asiatic-Pacific Area. Awarded GCM, APO, Phil. Lib. Amer. Def. and Unit Citation. Discharged in 1945.

DEES, Lester Eddie Sgt. Lester Eddie Dees, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Dees, Springhill, attended Springhill High. Entered Army Engr., 1942, trained at Camp Claiborne, La. and Ft. Dix, N.J. Served in Normandy, N. France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Cen. Europe. Awarded ETO Ribon and GC medal. Discharged in 1945.

DE LOACH, Herman E. Pfc. Herman E. De Loach, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. De Loach, Springhill, attended Springhill High. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Camp Crowder, Mo. Served in ETO. Awarded Unit Citation, 4 Battle Stars, ETO Ribbon and CG Medal. Discharged in 1945.

DICKINSON, John W. S/Sgt John W. Dickinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. U. P. Dickinson, Minden, graduate of Minden High. Entered Army, 1941, trained at Camp Hulen, Texas and Camp Davis, N.C. Served in SW Pacific. Awarded Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars, Arrowhead and Phil. Lib. Ribbon. Wounded in Cebu, 1945. (Note: Dot Merritt [[email protected]] writes that his parents were Mr. and Mrs. William Isaac Dickinson)

DORRIS, Charles E. Plt. Sgt Charles E. Dorris, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dorris, Springhill, husband of Jean Leonard, attended Springhill High. Entered Marines, 1938, trained in San Diego. Served in Tutuila, Samoa, Wallis, Panama and Gilberts.

DORSEY, Raymond Perry Jr. Aer. M. 3/c Raymond Perry Dorsey, Jr., son of D. R. Dorsey, Cucuta, S. America, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Denmon, Sarepta, La., attended LSU. Entered Navy, 1944, trained in San Diego and Lakehurst, N.H. Served in USA as Aerologist.

DRAKE, Aubrey E. Jr. Aubrey E. Drake Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Drake, Minden, graduate of LSU. Entered Army, 1944, trained at Camp Fannin, Texas. Killed in Action in Annarode, Germany, 1945.

DRIVER, James R. Pvt. James R. Driver, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Driver, Minden, husband of Ernestine Laird, Entered Marines, 1944, trained at Parris Island, S.C. Served in China.

Duke, Geroge E. Pfc. George E. Duke, son of Mrs. Willie Duke, Minden, husband of Gloria Bevens. Entered Army, 1942, trained at Camp Shelby, Miss. Served in ETO. Awarded Silver Star, Purple Heart and ETO Medal. Wounded in 1944. Discharged in 1945.

DULANY, Norman A. Pfc. Norman A. Dulany, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Dulany, Minden, husband of Jewell Wood. Entered Marines, 1944, trained in San Diego. Served in Pacific Theater. Stationed on Midway Island. Awarded AP Ribbon and GCM. Discharged in 1945.

DUNIGAN, Lewis Sgt. Lewis Dunigan, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dunigan, Springhill, husband of Betty Jean Byler, attended Springhill School. Entered Army, 1944, trained at Camp Fannin, Tex. Served in Germany, Czechoslovakia. Awarded Combat Badge and 2 Battle Stars. Discharged in 1946 .

DUNIGAN, Elbert L. Pfc. Elbert L. Dunigan, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Dunigan of Springhill, attended Springhill school. Entered Army 1941, trained in N.C., Tenn. and Camp Roberts, Cal. Served in Eng. France, Luxembourg and Germany. Awarded 4 Battle Stars and GCM. Discharged in 1945.

DUNN, Roy Pfc. Roy Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Dunn, Springhill, attended Springhill High. Entered Army, 1943, trained at Camp Fannin, Texas. Served on Leyte and Okinawa. Awarded Phil. Lib. AP, GCM, Combat Inf. Badge, Victory and Purple Heart. Wounded in Okinawa in 1945. Discharged in 1945.

DUNN, Frank F. T/Sgt. Frank F. Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Dunn, Doyline, graduate of Doyline School. Entered Army, 1939, trained in La., Mo., Oregon and S.C. Served in ETO. Awarded 3 Battle Stars, Amer. Def., Amer. Theater Ribbons. Discharged in 1945.

DUNN, Hollis L. S 1/c Hollis L. Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Dunn, Minden, graduate of Minden High. Entered Navy, 1944, trained in San Diego. Served in APO, Guam and Philippines. Awarded AP Medal. Discharged in 1946. (Note: Appears to be same Hollis Dunn as above)

DUNN, Guy Odwin C/SF Guy Odwin Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Dunn (deceased), Springhill, husband of Ruth Gray, attended Springhill High. Entered Navy Seabees in 1942, trained at Va. and Cal. Served in Pacific Theater, Fla., Tulagi, Purvis Bay, Guadalcanal and Okinawa. Discharged, 1945.

DURHAM, Pascal E. S/Sgt Pascal E. Durham, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Durham, Cotton Valley, attended Cotton Valley High. Entered AAF, 1942, trained at Monroe, La., N.C. and Calif. Served in ETO, Italy, Rome. Awarded GCM and EAME Ribbon. Discharged in 1945.
