"Although I was a small child and didn't know James personally, his family and my family were parishioners at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Wellston (on Kienlen Avenue) and I attended Notre Dame Catholic School as a child and teen. I knew about James' death in action, because we as a parish were proud of him, as we were of all our "boys" in service. It was a couple of years after his death that the parish put on a Musical Review using G. M. Cohen's Yankee Doodle Dandy music and songs, as a tribute to our fallen soldiers, I believe. Other members of his family were also students at Notre Dame, with my older brothers and sisters."
"I attended Notre Dame from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade, --- and received the link to the Flashlight from a class mate, Tom Duffy."
