| Fortunatus William (F.W.) Bryan Fortunatus William Bryan ( B. May 10, 1833 in Barnwell District, South Carolina ) to Josiah DuPont Bryan and Margaret Ann Singleton Bryan. He Died May 1, 1924 in Pottsville, Hamilton County, Texas and is buried Pottsville Community Cemetery. He Married Sarah Elmira Rogers on Oct. 13, 1853 in Barbour County, Alabama. He served the Confederacy with the 56th Alabama Cavalry, Partisan Rangers from the summer of 1863 until surrender at Greensboro. North Carolina on April 26, 1865. He saw action in Mississippi, the Atlanta Campaign, Savannah and Augusta, Georgia and the Carolinas. The F. W. Bryan family moved to Texas during the Fall of 1865, settling first in Lamar County and then moving to Hamilton County ca, 1880. The Bryans owned a general store and hotel in Pottsville.
