Confederate Civil War Veterans not members or or not listed on the Jeff Davis Camp 117 Monument

These names were extracted from the "Mills County Memories" Chapter 7, page 145 compiled and copyrighted by the Mills County Historical Commission, 1994. The title of the column is " Confederate Civil War Veterans not listed on Marker". It is not clear if they were just Civil War Veterans and not members of the Jeff Davis Camp #117 or if they were members, (The Membership Rolls were destroyed when the Courthouse burned) and they were unintentionally not entered on the Monument or if there were not funds available for these men to be recorded on the monument- however if they lived passed 1913- then they were probably not members of the Jeff Davis Camp

Additional information came from the Confederate Pension Application Files on file at the Texas State Archives, Texas State Electronic Library  (TSEL) is a project of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission
The Compiler has added from notes that were availiable either from the published works of the Mills County Historical Commission  or from personal interviews/ letters of descendants, or from Newspaper articles of the The Goldthwaite Eagle. as noted below

Green James P.

The information that I have from the Confederate records I have received concerning James P Green #9079, state that he was a part of Co H. 28. J.C. Means (maybe) Capt. D Calvery. The writing is not all that plain but I think that is what it says. It also says that he served 4 years, but I can't find any dates to support that. The papers were filled out 14 April 1902, when Mr Green was 60 years old Kandis Tomlinson

Kandis Tomlinson is researching for Timothy Green, father of her husband's ancestor "Andrew Ervin Green" and James P. Green is the brother of Andrew Ervin Green. James P. Green was not listed on Jeff Davis Camp #117 Monument- Confederate Pension Application 09079
