This photo is a very special one. the young girl on the left is
Samantha Atwater (daughter of Dave and Diane Atwater)...Next in the
stripped sweater and red hat is Lcdr Pete Mast, our commanding officer
at that time and one of the best people in the world! Next is his son
Ryan, born there in Keflavik, and then his beautiful wife "Slugger"!
That is the only name (a nickname im sure) that she ever used as long
as i knew her.....Pete Mast died in 1989/90 time frame from a heart
attack minutes after he completed his mile and a half run....i went to
the dedication of a building "mast hall" on corry station a year later..
(I know that's more info than you need, but I just wanted to tell the
story!!
