Doylestown Guards.—An adequate number of men

to fill up the ranks of this volunteer company have now

signed their names to its muster roll.  Sixty persons joined

the corps at its first meeting on Thursday night, and since

that time, recruiting has been going on rapidly.  The

intelligence of the progress made by the secessionists , and

the apprehension that Washington itself is now imperilled

inspired our young men with the determination to rally

to the nation’s standard.  By Saturday night over one

hundred names were on the list.  The members of the

company are now busily equipping themselves for Imme-

diate service, with proper under clothing.  Each man is

to be supplied with two blue flannel undershirts, two pairs

of flannel drawers, four pairs of socks, one fatigue cap, and

a good pair of shoes or boots.  Those who are not able to

purchase the necessary outfit for themselves; are being

supplied by the contributions of the citizens of Doyles-

town.  The ladies have volunteered their services in

making up the clothing, and dozens of them are now at

work with needles and sewing machines.  In two or three

days every member will be fully equipped, with the

exception of outer uniforms.  These, it is understood, are

to be furnished by the public authorities, when the men

are mustered into service.  Nothing is yet known as to

the when the company will be called into service.

It has been accepted by the Governor, and may be called

upon at any moment to march at a day’s notice.  It is

not likely, however, that it will be required until another

requisition for volunteers is made on Pennsylvania.  Com-

panies amounting in the aggregate to more than sixteen

regiments had reported themselves previous to the accept-

ing of this one.  The muster-roll of the Doylestown com-

pany is as follows:
