Captives of the 104th.—From a list of Federal

prisoners now confined by the rebels at Salisbury, North

Carolina, we are enabled to learn the fate of the men of

the 104th Regiment, who were taken at the battle of Fair

Oaks, on the 21st of May.  The wounded men who were

captured are not included.  It will be remembered that

Company E, commanded by Captain G. T. Harvey, was

surrounded and captured in a body.  Very few members,

of other companies of the 104th were taken prisoners. 

Charles Gamble and John Swartz, of Company E, have

died since their arrival at Salisbury, of typhoid fever. 

The former died on the 20th of June, and the latter on the

21st.  Gamble was from Philadelphia, and Swartz from

Lansdale.  The names of the members of the 104th at

Salisbury on the 25th of June, as published, were as fol-

lows:
