The Doylestown Guards, under Capt. Davis, turned

out for a parade on Saturday afternoon, in their handsome

new Government uniforms.  About fifty men were in the

ranks.  They displayed their thorough drill by marching

in quick and double-quick time through the streets, with-

out music, with the utmost precision.  After exercising

a while, the company proceeded to the Court House, where

the men were regaled with lager bear and cakes, furnished

by the liberality of some friends.  A meeting was organ-

ized, with Capt. Davis in the chair.  Resolutions of res-

pect to the memory of private Green, and of thanks to the

Doylestown Relief Committee were adopted.  The men

then received their certificates of honorable discharge

from the public service, signed by the Captain, and by the

mustering officer.  The company then formed again, and

had another parade, after which the men were dismissed.

The appearance of the company on parade bears high

testimony to the industry and qualifications of Capt. Davis,

as a drill-master, the men appearing to be perfectly fam-

iliar with all the evolutions peformed.
