104th Sails

For Monroe

April, 1862—The 104th Regiment

sailed from Alexandria for For-

tress Monroe, and encamped at

Newport News.  The Ringgold

Battery has started for Rich-

mond by land.

The farmers of Warminster

and adjacent townships were

very busy last week at getting

in their oats crop.  The ground

was in fine condition for plough-

ing.  Many persons also com-

menced breaking ground for

corn.

An April Snow – Storm – The

highways, especially in the low-

er part of the county were

much obstructed on Thursday by

the drifted show.  On Friday the

Street Road, above Johnsville,

was so filled up that it was im-

passable for vehicles.

The summer term of Mr. Bel-

ville’s school, at Hartsville, com-

mences on Wednesday, the 7th

of May next.
