Attends Son’s Funeral

Jan. 14, 1862 — William Wagon-

ner, a private in Company K, Ring-

gold Regiment, was summoned

home to Warminster, week before

last, to attend the funeral of his

little son, aged about 4 years.  The

child died on New Year’s day.

The father received word of the

melancholy event, and was grant-

ed a furlough of several days to

attend the funeral.  He arrived at

his home, about 1 o’clock on Fri-

day night, before the funeral,

walking all the way from Phila.,

where he arrived too late to take

the last train on the North

Penn’a Railroad.
