Local Miscellany.—A public reception was given
to the 104th Pennsylvania Regiment, on Tuesday last, in
Philadelphia. The veterans were welcomed home by Col.
Wm. F. Small, on behalf of the city authorities, in a neat
speech. Col. W. W. H. Davis responded in an appropriate
manner. The procession was then formed and the route
previously agreed upon was passed over. The escort con-
sisted of the Henry Guards, Captain John Spear. The
regiment was frequently cheered along the route.
The Philadelphia Dial says that when the 104th Pennsyl-
vania Regiment, on Tuesday last, was passing down Chestnut
Street, and when near Sixth, and opposite the Common-
wealth building, the head quarters of the Union Campaign
Club, they were greeted with vociferous cheers from the
men present at the rooms. Directly opposite is the room of
the Democratic State Central Committee. But not a word
came from the lips of the men there !
