Last Words from a Soldier.—The writer of a letter

received at this office last week from a soldier of the 104th

Regiment says — I cannot help saying a few words more

about our worthy candidate for Governor.  As he is such

a favorite among the soldiers, he should by all means be

re-elected to fill that important station.  The general

opinion among the soldiers is that he will be elected, but

they would like to give him their help, so that he might

receive an overwhelming majority, and that a lasting re-

buke might be given to the copperheads.  If the parents

of the soldiers vote, as the soldiers themselves would do,

Curtin is sure of success.  Shame upon them if they vote

against their sons!  Do all in your power to secure his

election, and when the news arrives in camp, the Penn-

sylvania soldiers will make Morris Island ring with re-

joicing.
