Dear Father

I must let you know that we are all well

and hope these few lines may find you well

the Weather was Very wet and

disagreeable but it has Cleared up nice  the

nats is so bad that I Can hardly

Write  the nats is as bad hear as the rebs

down south  our Visitors jart left last

Thursday  me and Emma and Lis and

Ellie hauled another heap of wood

with old tobe  this letter I will take

up to the furnace next week  we think

you will be home this month yet 

Harry gossagne says you will be home in

6 weeks  the news Come from Huntington

last week that there was 6 hundred

thousand men ? be discharged  we got

the news hear that tho got jef davis 

we only hope that it may be so 

we got your Cloth - last Friday ? ?
