May 25th 1865

Dear Husband  I sit down this morning to

write you a few lines  we are all well at

this present time and hope this may find you

enjoying the same blessing  to day is

ascention day and we are going to church

and to the post office  it is a beautiful morning

and makes me feel lonesome for you 

I dreamed of you last night  I thought

you were at home and I was so glad 

I hope it will soon be true  I am going

to william Fouses to day to see about grain

for flour  I have thought about getting

Mackerel  they are pretty high 9 dollars

a half barrel  we have good meat  it

dont agree with me  fish you know I

always liked especially at this time

and I want to have some  when you

come home there will be no

apples nor peaches but our plum

trees are very full  we had heavy

rains last week  it washed a good

deal of corn out  we have our potatoes

in the orchard and a ?
