Sunday July 30th 1865

Dear Fleetwood

I sit down this evening to write you

a few lines we received your letter yesterday  I am glad to

hear you are well  I hope you may remain so

we are all well at present  I am glad I can write this

much to you for I know you will be glad to hear it

David and Betsy were here to day  it was good company for

me  he is going to send 8 dollars this week for you  tomorrow

I will look for your certificate  it must sent along you know

he sent his and this week he received one in full  he

wrote to you last week  I suppose you have got it

this time.  I have tried to get a ten dollar bill changed

to send you some more but I cannot get greenbacks  it

was Pennsylvania money and that will not do in virginia

I do not think 10 dollars is to much for you  I would

give it ? if I thought you would get it but some

rougue might get it  David ? I should tell you

he was going to pull up stakes and leave as soon

as he could suit himself  I think he is about trading

his farm for large property at puttonsville up at the

pike with a large hill and store and a good many

houses he told me so some time ago he will go in the spring

say nothing about it yet till we see how it will turn out

There is 8 deserters published in the register this week

they are all from this township among them is

Sam Stewart  they must have little ? ? ? sit

home at least  I should think so they ought to be
