Cousin Han,
                   Your letter of June
4th was received last evening, and
this evening the butter, beef, straw-
berries, preserves and wine came
duly to hand. Allow me to return
to you my heartfelt thanks for
the above luxuries and for paying
the freight and also give my
thanks to Abel for making the
box. We have a tumbler now
in our room which will I think
be a handy affair. I don't believe
strawberries are as plenty in Maple
dale as in Washington City. Today
I bought 2 quarts for 12 1/2 cts. a quart.
I had splendid supper of cold
