Cousin Han,
I think this is the last time
I shall write from this place, as we are going
to move to-morrow morning to some other
spot, the vessel is lying at the wharf now
waiting for us. If we go far by water another
long spell of sea sickness, the only thing
that worries me.
Our regiment has been camping out for
two weeks. All the companies except D. S. and G.
went up the railroad towards Baldwin yesterday two
weeks ago. They were scattered along the road to guard it.
Yesterday week the remaining three companies were
sent to Baldwin on the cars, quite a nice ride.
The following morning the town was evacuated and
our three companies remained behind and burned all
the buildings, depot, destroyed the track and wiped Bald-
win clean out of existence. We then got on the cars and
proceeded ten miles down the road towards Jacksonville
