The 91st PA after the war

Survivor's Association The regiment's Survivor's Association had annual meetings, at least through 1884, and was still very active in 1914.

Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Some became members of the Grand Army of the Republic. Peter Abbot's granddaughter even became president of the GAR and president of the Pennsylvania Department of the GAR!

Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (MOLLUS) Peter Keyser was a founder of the MOLLUS.

Flags The officers voted to deposit the colors in Independence Hall, and the State flag was returned to the State Capitol.
Pensions Probably about 60% of the regiment's members have pension files, and about 90% of them received one. In at least a few cases, spouses received pensions they were not eligible for.

National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers Some members of the 91st also lived in the National Home.

Deaths The last death we know of occurred in December 1938.
