He was 42 years old when he was enlisted (6, 9 [43 in 1860]). He was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (6, 9).

In 1860, he was living in Bridgeport Borough, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (9). He was living with his wife Elizabeth, and Ida, Henrietta, Lizzie, and Walter (presumably his children), along with another apparently unrelated person (9). He was a conveyancer (9).

He was 6 feet 0 inches tall, and had a light complexion, grey eyes, and light hair (6).

On 30 December 1864, Sellers proposed him to fill a vacancy in the Ambulance Corps (3).

He went on a furlough, from which he never returned (4). The furlough probably ended on 2 June 1865 (4). He deserted on 25 [?] June [?] 1865 (4, 11).

He was discharged on 9 August 1865 by general order, to date from 7 August 1865 (1, 2 ["no discharge given"]).

After the war

On 20 December 1867, his widow, Emma E Buzby, successfully applied for a pension (8).

In 1870, his widow Emma E Buzby was living in Bridgeport, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (10). She was living with Hetty, Lizzie, and Walter (presumably her children), and four Halloway's (10). She owned real estate worth $2,000 and personal property worth $300 (10).
