This company was originally Co. G, 26th Regiment Tennessee Volunteer Infantry and was transferred to the 1st Regiment Confederate Infantry by S.O. #44 Department of East Tennesse (8 November 1862).
This regiment was originally 1st Villepique's Independent Battalion, which subsequently became 36th (Villepique's) Regiment Georgia Infantry.

This company was a spin-off from Captain Burtz's "Cherokee Georgia Mountaineers". On 11 April 1864 this company became 2nd Co. E, 21st Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry.

This company was paroled at Roanoke Island on 8 February 1862 after its capture.  The men returned to Georgia to await exchange. The company was reorganized 16 May 1862 and attached to the 55th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry while they waited for exchange.  After being declared exchanged the company rejoined the 2nd Battalion North Carolina Infantry in August 1862.  On 11 April 1864 this company became 2nd Co. A, 60th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry.

This company was organized originally in April 1862 in Savannah, Georgia as McAlpin's Company, Engineer Troops.  It was later transferred to the 2nd Regiment Engineer Troops as Co. D.
2nd Regiment Florida Cavalry

This company served as local defense along the St. Mary's River.
 
3rd Battery Maryland Artillery

This battery was mustered into service 14 January 1862.  It was reorganized in September or October 1863 and the battery was credited to the State of Georgia.  After reorganization it was known as Ritter's Battery, Georgia Light Artillery.

Maj. Slaughter's Battalion Alabama Volunteer Cavalry and Maj. Goode's, 19th Battalion Georgia Volunteer Cavalry were consolidated on 27 Dec 1862 to form the 10th Regiment Confederate Cavalry.

This battery and two other batteries from Manigault's Battalion were consolidated with  Co. C, 12th Battalion Georgia Light Artillery to form Siege Train, Georgia by S.O. #10, Headquarters South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida (10 January 1863).

This company was organized originally in April 1862 in Savannah, Georgia as McAlpin's Company, Engineer Troops.  It was later transferred to the 2nd Regiment Engineer Troops as Co. D.

This company was organized 1 Aug 1863 with men from Cheatham's Division by S.O. #205, Headquarters, Army of Tennesse.
Co. C      
This company was organized 1 Aug 1863 with men from Stewart's Division by S.O. #205, Headquarters, Army of Tennesse.
Co. F      
This company was organized 1 Aug 1863 with men from Cleburne's Division by S.O. #205, Headquarters, Army of Tennesse.
Co. G      
This company was organized by S.O. #66 A&IGO (22 May 1863).  The men transferred to this company were dismounted cavalrymen from Wither's (later Hardman's) Division, Army of Tennessee.
It is assumed, because of the composition of the Army of Tennessee, that some Georgians may have been transferred to these companies.
 
4th Regiment Alabama Infantry
This unit was composed of companies from various counties in Alabama and mustered into service in Virginia; however, because this regiment was organized in Dallas, Georgia there may have been a number of Georgians who enlisted in this unit.
 
45th Regiment Alabama Infantry
This regiment mustered into service in Columbus, Georgia.
