This record says the my greatgrandfather Riley Phillips was transfered from the 7th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry, April 30, 1863. The 7th TN Vol. Inf. was combined with the 12th and 16th Kentucky Regiments sometime late in 1862. The 7th was to become non-existant before August 1863. More on what happened to the 7th can be found on USGenNet. I have ordered any records of my greatgrandfather that may be of interest if they exist prior to the ones I am posting.
