Benjamin Rosser
Benjamin enlisted on October 12, 1861 in San Antonio, Texas. He was enlisted by
Lt. C. McRea. At that time he was paid $31.20 for using his own horse in lieu of a
military horse. He enlisted again on October 31, 1862 in Helena by Capt.
John Donelson. At that time the Cavalry set a value of $85.00 for his horse and
$ 35.00 on his equipment. At that time he was paid $ 24.40 for use of his horse.
On the Muster Roll of June 30, 1863 he is listed at wounded in San Antonio.
Another of his records indicates that he was shot in the left arm below the
shoulder while on duty near Ft. Clark. His record also indicates that he enlisted a
third time while stationed near Escondido under Captain John Donelson.
