Albert Brown Butler was born about 1844 in Scott County, Mississippi and died January 15, 1929 at his home in Bee County, Texas.

Albert filed for his civil war pension, # 42193, on May 17, 1921.  He was age 77, born in Scott County, MS.  He had been a resident since 1852, 35 years, of Monteola near Pettus in Bee County, Texas and was a farmer.  He enlisted on June 26, 1862 at Escondedo, and served in Pyron's Regiment.  He was captured at Tippedoreville, Bayou LaFouche, Louisiana on June 21, 1862, was imprisoned Algiers, paroled New Orleans, LA, and sent to Fortress Monroe, VA, recvd. Dahl Ranch Cemetery Bee County TX

This cemetery is located on private property on County Road 122 in

Bee County. It is on the east side of the road beyond a gate and

cannot be seen from the road, it is 1150 feet beyond the gate.

There is a much older cemetery about 250 feet beyond the gate in a

copse of trees. The graves are barley recognizable as such, no

markers can be seen. There is a very old fence around what was

once a gravesite with a pile of stones in it. There are other

piles of stones in the area. It is obviously a very old cemetery.

Hi Renee,

The only one I can definitely connect is Albert Brown Butler. He is not in my direct line but is a first cousin of my great grandfather.

The information I have from a source who is a direct descendant is:

Albert Brown Butler was born 24 May 1844 in Scott Co MS to parents Burnell and Sarah Ann (nee Ricks) Butler.

They emigrated to Texas in 1852 and settled in Karnes County.

Albert married Sarah Emmaline Waller on 24 Sept 1864 in Karnes Co TX

He died 22 January 1927 in Bee Co TX

There is no Jasper in my records – there are other Butler families in that area at the time who are either unrelated or very distantly related to mine.

There is a Marion Butler, nephew of Albert Butler, who might be the one listed but without more information it’s impossible to tell. The Marion in my line was born 1845 in Scott Co MS to parents John and Matilda Butler and came to TX with his parents in 1852 along with Albert and his parents. That’s all I know about him and your listing for Marion Butler has no birth information to compare.

My great grandfather Leander Gaston Butler enlisted in Company D of the 8th Texas Infantry at Goliad Co TX under Capt. C. Russell along with James C. Butler, Albert’s brother.

That’s all the information I have about the names you listed.

Maryanne
