On the January 1862 Muster Roll he is paid from the enlistment date and he is
also paid $ 39.20 for the use of his personal horse.
Muster Roll dated October 31, 1862 shows that he has reenlisted while stationed
near Helena in Karnes County. His horse is shown at a value of $ 95 and his
equipment at $ 45. He is paid $ 24.40 for the use of his horse.
Muster Roll of June 30, 1863 states that he was transferred to Co. Baylors unit
on May 17, 1863. ( This is most likely an assignment to Headquarter in San
Antonio.)

Live Oak County, Texas"Be it remembered that on this the 15th day of April AD 1857 personally came and appeared Thomas Dolan who on oath declares and says that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America and to renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince potentate or state whatsoever and particularly to the Queen of Great Brittain [sic] and Ireland of whom he is at present a subject, and that he arrived in the United States viz Feb 1857."
