Francis Waltrink

Francis enlisted on Sept.23, 1861 in Ft. Brown Texas for a period
of 12 months. Capt. Donelson was his enlisting officer. Francis
was 30 years old when he enlisted. The Cavalry set a value on his
horse of $ 100 , with a note " has a good horse."

On the Muster Roll of Jan. 1, 1862 he is listed as a
Corporal, "promoted on Nov.25, 1861."  By May 1, 1863 he had
earned a promotion of 5th Sergeant.

In April its noted that he is absent, on recruiting service. His
last record in Sept. 1864 states that he has been on furlough
since Aug. 1864.
