Pvt. Joseph E. Bolton

Joseph enlisted on April 5, 1862 under Captain John Donelson. He enlisted near Helena ( Karnes County) for the duration of the war. He had his own horse and equipment and the Cavalry set a value on the horse at $ 112.00 and his equipment at 

$ 60.00.  They paid him $ 24.40 for the use of his horse.

Muster Roll dated November 8, 1863 -  with out leave at Rio Frio.

Muster Roll dated February 1864 -  " Absent sick "

Muster Roll dated August 1864 - " furloughed on Aug. 12, 1864
