Joseph Howard
Pvt. Joseph Howard enlisted at Ft. Brown
Texas on September 23,
1861 under Capt. Donelson. He was 20 years old at the time. His
horse was valued at $ 60 and his equipment at $ 15. He enlisted
for a period of 12 months.
Muster Roll - January 1862- He is paid $ 14 for the use of his
horse. The following month the records indicate that he is "
Confined to Ft. Brown for disaobedience of orders." He is due his
regular pay from enlistment. He is released from confinement on
April 2 by the commanding Colonel according to his last record.
