Morrissey (pvt) enlisted on Sept. 23, 1861 at Ft. Brown, Texas. His age is
listed as 19 and he enlisted for a term of 12 months. Capt. Donelson was his
enlisting officer. The Cavalry set a value of $ 50 on his horse and $ 15 on his
equipment.
Muster Roll of Jan. 1, 1862 - He is paid $ 39.20 for the use of his horse.
Muster Roll of Feb. 1862 - He has not been paid since enlisting and he is on
detached service on the Rio Grande at Santa Rita as of Feb. 2, 1862
Muster Roll of April 62 - Present
Muster Roll of Oct. 1862 - he has reenlisted at Helena under Capt. Donelson. His
horse is now valued at $ 90 and his equipment at $ 40. He is paid $ 24.20
for the use of his horse.
Muster Roll of June 30, 1863 - He is paid $ 48.40 for use of his horse. He is on
duty as a hospital attendant.
August, 1863 - On furlough for 30 days starting on July 5, 1863

Aug., 1864 - Sick in hospital. Sent on Detached service as courier in Galveston
as of Aug. 10, 1864.
