Robert Williams enlisted in the 2nd Cavalry on September 23, 1861 at Ft. Brown.
His enlistment officer was John Donelson and he enlisted for a period of 12
months. He was 31 years old at the time.
The April 1862 Muster Roll indicates that he is present and at
"Ringgold Barracks".
On the Muster Roll for October 31, 1862, it is noted that he was promoted to
1st. Lt. on October 10, 1862.
A Pay Record indicates that he was paid $ 604.00 that was due from Sept.
61 to April 30, 1863. He is paid on May 1862.
The June Muster Roll states that he was " Killed in action."
The August record states that he was killed on June 21, 1863 at LaFourche
Crossing in Louisiana.
