William Holcy
Pvt. William Holey - His first record
notes that he is on a " Roll
of prisoners captured by Lt. Col Phillips Command during the
Expediton to Grenada Miss." He was captured on Aug. 14, 1863.
Paroled on Aug. 20. He is paroled in Memphis Tennessee. It notes
that he is a resident of Harris County Texas
(Note- This record indicates that he was part of Company A at the
time of his capture.)
He was captured again on Sept. 7, 1863 at Tishomingo, Mississippi.
This record also notes that he escaped on November 27, 1863 and
was captured a third time on March 1864 at Jerseyville, Illinois.
Note: Records have both Holey and Holcy
as the surname.
