William B. Somers

He enlisted on Sept. 23, 1861 in Brownsville, Texas at Ft. Brown.  He was 40 years old at the time and he enlisted for a period of 12 months under Capt. Donelson. At the time the Cavalry set a value on his horse at $ 125.00 and his equipment at $ 25.00.

Muster Roll of Nov. 1, 1861 - he is paid by Capt. J.A. Settle

Muster Roll of Jan. 1, 1862 -  it is noted that he has been riding a "Fort horse" since October.

He is listed as present on the Muster Roll of April 1862. That is the last record on him.
